About MAASIN

Welcome to the Marching Arts Access, Safety & Inclusion Network (MAASIN), a community-driven organization dedicated to building equity, access, inclusion, and safety in the marching and performing arts.

We believe every performer, educator, and staff member deserves to exist in spaces free from abuse, ableism, discrimination, and harm. Our mission is to transform the culture of the marching arts, from drum corps and color guard, to band, indoor percussion, and dance, into one rooted in care, accountability, and collective well-being.

Here, you’ll find essays, op-eds, research reports, and reflections on topics like mental health, trauma recovery, disability inclusion, LGBTQ+ visibility, gender equity, anti-racism, and labor rights in the performing arts. Our contributors include performers, educators, organizers, and advocates working toward a more sustainable, safe, and just activity for everyone.

We share insights, lived experiences, and actionable tools to help ensembles, circuits, and organizations create healthier programs and inclusive leadership practices.

Join us as we reimagine what the marching arts can be: a place where everyone belongs, every voice is heard, and the future is built on equity and care.
